Blackjack Table Layout
A blackjack table consists of six or seven spots for players and one
dealer (note only 5 depicted here). Traditionally (and by this we mean
circa 1996), online casinos have offered only single player blackjack,
but are increasingly offering multiplayer, although we have yet to
discover an online casino offering beyond 2 or 3 player.
In front of each player there is a betting circle/rectangle where you place the chips you want to wager.
First base, the seat at which the first player is able to act upon
his/her hand, is the seat furthest to the right (or left of the dealer).
Third base, the seat at which the last player to act upon his/her hand
sits, is the furthest to the left (dealer's right).
The dealer stands behind the table, opposite to where the players sit.
In front of him are the Currency Slot, Chip Rack and the Shoe. The
Currency Slot is where the dealer's put the money that the players
exchange for chips, which are taken from the Chip Rack. The Shoe is a
"box" for holding the undealt cards and is usually used in multi-deck
games.
